About Gray, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Jones County, Georgia, Gray is a small city found within the Macon Metropolitan Area. As of 2010, about 2,100 people called the community home. Gray serves as the county seat, and the railroad construction during the 1880s helped to give the community that designation. Incorporated in 1911, Gray was named for James Madison Gray, a financial backer of the Confederate forces during the Civil War. Gray is served by the Jones County School District, with high school graduates completing their coursework at Jones County High School.

Despite the small size of Gray, there are a variety of things to see and do in Gray. The Old Clinton Historic District features a collection of architecturally unique homes from the early 19th century, many of which are found on the National Register of Historic Places. Gray Gables is a popular venue located on East Clinton Street, offering a beautiful space for weddings and other events. Gray is also home to many restaurants that will satisfy any palate, including the Brick House Grill and Bar, Treasures by the Tracks, and the Old Clinton Barbecue House.

Found within a humid subtropical climate zone, Gray area residents enjoy warm to hot conditions throughout the year. The summer weather is especially hot, with average high temperatures reaching into the 90s from June to August. Residents rely on energy efficient central air conditioners to stay cool regardless of how high thermostat readings might reach.

Compared to other parts of the U.S., winters in Gray are quite pleasant. Snow is occasional, with about 50% of the winters receiving no snowfall. Average daytime highs reach the upper-50s, but since overnight lows can fall below freezing, proper climate controls are a necessity.
