About Milledgeville, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Milledgeville is the county seat of Baldwin County, Georgia. As of 2010, its population was nearing 18,400 residents, and it is located along the Oconee River. Previously serving as the state’s capital, the community is located along U.S. Highway 441 northeast of Macon. Milledgeville is home to the Baldwin State Prison, which brings employment opportunities to the community, and higher education is available at Georgia Military College, Georgia College and State University, and Central Georgia Technical College.

Although Milledgeville is no longer the capital of Georgia, it still attracts visitors with its historic venues and impressive architecture. There are a variety of unique cultural opportunities available, including Georgia’s Old Capital Museum and the Old Governor’s Mansion. Art is popular in the community, with attractions including the John Marlor Art Center and the Blackbridge Hall Art Gallery. Other popular areas of interest are the Walter B. Williams Junior Park, Andalusia Farm, and the Fun Factory.

The weather in Milledgeville is indicative of a humid subtropical climate zone. During the winter, temperatures generally reach the mid-40s in January, but there are approximately 40 days each season in which daytime highs don’t reach the freezing point. While average snowfall is generally less than an inch per year, homeowners still need to take precautions to keep their properties warm during the winter. Without an efficient heat pump or other home heating system, interior pipes and plumbing could freeze, leading to an expensive problem to correct.

The summers in Milledgeville are quite hot and humid, and it is not uncommon for temperatures to exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit a few days per year. During the summer months, over 80 days with temperatures exceeding 90 degrees can also be expected. Residents rely on their home air conditioning system in order to stay safe from heat-related illnesses when these harsh weather patterns arrive.
